Organized by the China Electronics Exhibition Organizing Committee, the "China Electronics Manufacturers Procurement Behavior Survey Report" conducted by CNT Netwokrs will be the focus of the Shanghai Electronics Fair every year. The annual report reveals the trends in the supply and demand of electronic components, always getting the industry. The extensive attention, its research data has also become the important decision-making basis for the industry. During the electronic show, he interviewed Mr. Liu Jie, CEO of CNT Networks. He shared some of the core findings of the survey with everyone.
Q: Compared with previous surveys, what are the new perspectives of this year's survey?
A: In the 2011 survey, we focused on the impact of supply chain changes on supplier selection and found new trends in supplier decision making. Through on-line surveys, we have collected a total of 1,560 valid responses, which are representative of both the industry coverage of the respondents and the distribution of job functions. This ensures that the survey results are fair, accurate and precise.
Q: In the 2011 survey, what changes have China Electronics manufacturers made regarding the procurement of components?
Answer: One of the core findings of this year's survey is that the partnership between the supply and demand sides of the components is being transformed from a personal preference to a professionalization dominated by institutionalization. For example, the survey shows that the supplier certification process has been established, and the proportion of well-implemented manufacturers has risen from 53.9% in 2010 to 58.4%; system vendors with supplier training plans also increased from 39.9% in the previous year to 48.9. At the same time, more buyers have involved suppliers in early product design activities, a significant increase of 49.7% to 72%, which reflects the more rational and scientific process of supplier selection. This change also makes the purchaser choose more suppliers, pay more attention to their overall quality performance, rather than just focus on one or two elements.
Q: What are the characteristics of the overall development of the component market in 2011?
A: According to the survey, the average total purchases of component parts by electronics manufacturers in China increased by 12.7% in 2011. Large and medium-sized enterprises have become the main driving force for the growth of total purchases. At the same time, in the total purchases, the average proportion of imported components and products was 58.6%, which was slightly higher than the data from the 2010 survey. The survey also found that manufacturers from industrial control security, display lighting, automotive electronics and other emerging markets became procurement of imported components. The subject has become the subject of demand growth with the most potential for growth in the future.
Q: What impact has Japan’s earthquake on the supply chain of domestic components?
A: After the Great Japan Earthquake, the supply ratio of Japanese brand components dropped drastically from 24.8% before the earthquake to 15.9%. The demand released was transferred to suppliers in other regions. European and American brands surpassed Japan to become the largest supplier of components. . After this disaster incident, the purchaser’s awareness of risk aversion has increased significantly. When selecting suppliers, everyone avoided procurement risks by diversifying procurement, adding new suppliers, and cooperating with professional component distributors. Of course, changes in the market structure also bred new opportunities.
