France's participation in bulb recycling

According to French media "20minutes.fr" quoted by AFP reported that French energy conservation organization Récylum said on March 18th local time, in 2013, the bulb recovery rate in France continued to rise, reaching 42% of sales, a total of 39.5 million.

According to a statement issued by Récylum, in 2013, the organization collected a total of 39.5 million used light bulbs and reused it, an increase of 14% compared to 2012. The bulb recovery rate increased by 3 percentage points to 42%. The weight of recycled light bulbs rose from 4,270 tons in 2012 to 4,591 tons in 2013.

Récylum praised the French people’s enthusiasm for recycling light bulbs, and attributed this achievement to strong propaganda and “intensive” recycling networks, especially 16,000 collection points located in French stores. Récylum emphasized that currently 87% of French people will send used bulbs for recycling, compared to 80% in 2011.

The report pointed out that recycling light bulbs can recycle glass, metals (copper and aluminum) and rare ores (rare earth). It is reported that in addition to halogen lamps, energy-saving light bulbs, LED lights and neon lights can be recycled.
