Hangzhou strives to replace all street lights with LED street lights within 5 to 8 years

Hangzhou has been included in the pilot of solar LED street lamps. LED lights belong to new energy and low energy consumption lighting. The technology is mature and cost-effective. The current bottleneck of solar LED street lights is the lack of battery storage capacity and maintenance costs. The lighting time of a street lamp in Hangzhou is about 4,000 hours a year. In the long run, replacing ordinary street lamps with LED street lamps saves money. Hangzhou Electric Power Department said on February 21st that the street lights in Hangzhou will be updated to LED street lights in 5-8 years. At the same time, solar LED street lights will be properly developed and applied according to the development level of solar energy technology. At present, about 5% of streetlights in Hangzhou are LED street lights, and 30-inch solar LED street lights are still being piloted near Qingchun overpass. This year, there are more than 20 roads in Hangzhou that will use LED street lights.
