iSuppli believes that global consumer electronics has a solid recovery

According to analysts from iSuppli, the global consumer electronics equipment and semiconductor markets in use are recovering in 2010.

In 2010, sales of global consumer electronics equipment reached US$259 billion, but after deducting last year’s decline, sales this year still fell by more than 3% compared to 2008. The company is confident that it expects to increase by 6.7% and 7% respectively in 2011 and 2012, and it will still have a slight growth of 1.2% in 2013 and 0.6% in 2014.

iSuppli reported that sales of semiconductors related to consumer electronics reached 57.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2010, an increase of 27.7% compared to 44.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2009. In 2009, it dropped by 15.7%. The company expects to reach 69.4 billion U.S. dollars by 2014.

The increase in sales of consumer electronics equipment is currently mainly due to high-value end products such as LCD TVs and Blu-ray DVDs.

Jordan Selburn, a consumer electronics analyst at iSuppli, believes that a high value-added consumer electronics product may generate more than $100 million in sales during its chip life cycle.

However, the cost of developing such chips has risen to 10-20 million US dollars, so for those 2 or 3 line small companies can not come to support such a high development costs can only be discouraged.
