New color LEDs, HP UV and IR LEDs at the OMC Electronics Design Show

OMC, a pioneer in the field of optoelectronics in Europe, will present a series of new LEDs at the Electronic Design Show. The new products include a range of new surface mount high-power UV and IR LED emitters, as well as proprietary new color LEDs.

High-power surface mount infrared and UV LEDs

The high-power SMD LED series is available in two package styles for a variety of possible applications including curing, data communication, inspection and sensing. Among them, the compact 3.5x3.5mm high-power SMD LED device can be used for UV and IR LEDs, providing multiple integrated lens options for different output beam angles. Available UV wavelengths include 365 nm, 385 nm, and 395 nm, and IR wavelengths include 850 nm and 940 nm.

The second package of the series is the larger MultichipUVLED with a measurement size of 6.8x6.8mm. This 7W device offers very high power output and a glass lens for high reliability and long life.

Color LED

Common red, yellow, and green LEDs on the market today tend to use aging chip technology, which lags behind newer colors such as blue and dark green. "OMC's Commercial Director William Heath said. "Our new active diffuser technology enables designers to use the next generation of high-output red, amber and green LEDs to enhance the look and functionality of their latest products.
