In April 2015, LeTV released the first mobile phone with a Type-C interface, and the Type-C interface was widely adopted by mobile phone manufacturers. At the same time, with the help of USB PD, the Type-C interface has basically been popularized in just two years. The application of Type-C interface is not only limited to mobile phones, laptops, tablets, mobile power supplies, chargers, etc. are also important carriers.

When it comes to Type-C, many people think of USB PD fast charging as soon as possible. In fact, Type-C and USB PD fast charging is not a peer-to-peer relationship, but only the bearer interface of the USB PD protocol. The Type-C interface does not mean that the product supports the USB PD fast charging protocol. For example, one plus three, one plus five, millet 5 and other mobile phones are Type-C interfaces, but none of them support USB PD protocol. The charger disassembled today is also a device with Type-C interface but does not support USB PD fast charging. It is the product type Type-C+ 5USB multi-port charger.

First, the appearance

Pinsheng's multi-port charger uses a black-bottomed box. The overall design of the package is relatively delicate. It uses a high-cost bronzing process and uses a variety of colors to reflect different selling points. The box is moderately sized and has weight in your hand. The general appearance of the product can be seen from the front of the box.

The English version of the interface on the back of the box is introduced, and the parameter information is printed on a white sticker.

The main selling points of the product: 5 sets of USB, 1 set of Type-C interface and maximum output power of 40W.

Product model: TS-C088. In terms of output, the six output interfaces can only output 5V, and the maximum current is 8A. Among them, the single USB-C port output supports up to 3A current, and the maximum current of single USB-A port output is 2.4A. In other words, the USB-C interface of this charger does not support USB PD fast charge output.

Pinson's multi-port charger comes standard with an 8-line mains input cable with a magnetic cable.

The charger is made of flame-retardant PC material, gray and white; the front is the "PISEN" logo and the "one" type power indicator.

Second, dismantling

Ultrasonic welding, which is common in chargers, can be opened without damage.

The charger fills some glue between the circuit board and the outer casing, which can effectively prevent the looseness of the circuit board caused by the drop during the user's use, and can timely dissipate the heat generated by the internal components.

Since there is not much glue, the circuit and the casing are easier to separate.

In order to meet the high current requirements of multi-interface simultaneous operation, the transformer part of the internal circuit board uses a large piece of metal heat sink.

On the reverse side of the circuit, the whole looks unconventional. At the same time, tin treatment is applied in many locations to enhance the current carrying capacity.

An insulating plastic sheet is also placed in the mains input section.

The heat sink of the transformer is fixed by screws.

The heat sink and the transformer contact position are coated with thermal grease.

In addition, for the main switch tube part of the entire circuit, there is also a separate heat sink.

Although the multi-port charger of Pinsheng is not compatible with the USB PD fast charge level, the output power of the maximum 40W is already very powerful.
