China Mobile today released its 2016 interim financial report. In the first half of this year, China Mobile's revenue was 370.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, and net profit was 60.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%.
China Mobile's communications service revenue for the first half of the year was 325.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%. This income mainly includes two aspects:
1. Voice revenue was 120 billion yuan, down 14.2% year-on-year;
2. Traffic revenue was 195 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.7%, of which mobile Internet traffic increased by 133.9% year-on-year.
It can be seen that the traffic revenue has exceeded the voice revenue.
In terms of the number of users, mobile users reached 837 million, an increase of 2.4% year-on-year.
Specific to 4G, more than 200,000 new 4G base stations were added, totaling 1.32 million, the total number of 4G users reached 429 million, the penetration rate reached 51.2%, and the proportion of 4G network traffic also increased to 88%.
In terms of broadband, the net increase in the first half of the year was 10.81 million, with a total of 65.84 million.
