The company's "first phase" 5G Supernet in the 3.5GHz band covers a few miles from Qatar's Pearl to Hamad International Airport.
It is reported that Ooredoo has hundreds of millions of users in many countries around the world, but the company still lacks in the research and development of 5G equipment. Due to the use of Ooredoo 5G Supernet network, it is necessary to purchase 5G-compatible equipment from Ooredoo, but its performance in 5G terminal equipment development seems to be unsatisfactory, and there is no related equipment available.
However, Ooredoo promised that they will provide customers with terminal equipment in the next month and decide to launch 5G smartphones by June 2019.
Since 2018 is a "commercial first year" generally defined in the industry, leading countries in the telecommunications field have developed 5G commercial promotion plans. 5G has received extensive attention from all over the world, and various countries and regions have issued “national plans†for 5G.
