How invisible intelligent miniature sensors will fit into our lives

The Internet of Things is not just for those expensive smart appliances . By using some simple and tiny sensors, you can make your life full of intelligence. The technology website The Verge has introduced this new sensor technology:

Kolibree toothbrushes know more about your mouth than you think. It monitors how you brush your teeth and corrects it if there are any errors. Even your dentist can't get to know your oral hygiene every day, and that's why Kolibree exists.

At this year's CES show, we saw a lot of equipment that can track the bits and pieces of life: the Netatmo June bracelet can detect how much UV light you absorb, and the AdhereTech smart bottle will remind you of the time of taking medicine. But the strangest of these devices is Sen.se's Mother and Motion Cookies: they disguise some customizable sensors into small, color-sized discs, known as "cookies," to detect if you forget to close the refrigerator door. Or, the watered plants are watered. Users can assign different tracking tasks to each sensor, and then they will perform their duties.

But these small "cookies" are not the key. They only carry important technologies, that is, smart sensors that can track conditions such as motion, temperature, presence, etc., as well as data that is collected and customized through different applications and methods. Each cookie is programmed with up to 15 different apps - it can watch your uninvited guests at the same time, track how many roads you go every day, and your sleep every night.

Whether it's in the form of tablets or cookies, a vendor like Sen.se will use its own sensors to collect massive amounts of data, and then the real challenge will begin: figuring out what to do with this data. Haladjian believes that Mother's sensor technology can be as small as a grain of rice in the future and placed in jeans or sheets to passively track all the data that can be measured by the algorithm. “As long as you can detect specific behavior patterns, you can use the same algorithm to develop quite a few applications,” he said. “For example, algorithms related to door opening can be used in many different settings. For example, detecting how many times a store's doors have been pushed, and collecting data and statistics about customers entering the store."

At present, it is not the sensors that hinder the progress of Haladjian, but the batteries that provide energy. Only when the battery is reduced in size can the sensor become small enough. After achieving this, Haladjian said that Mother will act as a form of device that allows people to accept sensors as part of their non-invasive life. “We need to be gradual,” Haladjian said. “People need to get used to sensors. They need to understand and calmly face these things in life.”
