Overview:
When measuring single-chip microcomputers and some complicated digital circuits, the general dual-track oscilloscopes often have insufficient channels.
This paper introduces a simple method, using only two ordinary small and medium-sized CMOS integrated circuits, eight resistors and one capacitor, to make an eight-track display add-on device, so that a general single-track or dual-track oscilloscope can simultaneously observe eight-way periodic signals. This device is useful for analyzing timing and finding faults. The eight trace display is different from the logic analyzer, and has the following two advantages: 1. Looking at the eight-way oscilloscope from the X direction shows the actual waveform, including the glitch. The logic analyzer displays a pseudo waveform, the sampling time is discrete, and the glitch that occurs at the non-sampling instant is invisible. 2. Looking at the oscilloscope from the Y direction is a continuous physical quantity - the signal level and the logic analyzer only displays a "0" or "1" state. Some bad signals that are not high or low, the former sees very clearly, the latter is decomposed by the preset threshold into two states above the threshold and below the threshold, and no error signal is seen.
