Google Chrome blocked Symantec: Abolishing all HTTPS credentials!

Due to a large number of Symantec's mistakes in recent years, Google announced on Thursday that Google Chrome will gradually restrict Symantec's HTTPS credentials.

In September 2015, Symantec admitted that its Thawte certificate authority had issued a Google.com Extended Validation (EV) in error and fired its employees.

At that time, Symantec said that it had sent 23 certificates by mistake, but Google recently discovered that the total amount exceeds 30,000.

This means that many users may be connected to websites that contain malicious programs, resulting in personal information or accounts being in danger of being stolen.

Google was very angry about this and stated that it would impose sanctions on Symantec.

Google’s latest statement, Chrome will no longer recognize all certificates issued by Symantec. The original Chrome browser will display a valid URL holder in the address bar, that is, the name of Symantec, but Google engineer Ryan Sleevi pointed out that from now on at least one year, Google no longer shows the project, which means that Symantec The credentials were downgraded to less secure domain credentials.

In the future, Google plans to gradually abolish all existing certificates issued by Symantec's vouchers through Chrome upgrades.

Since 2015 Symantec-issued vouchers account for 30% of all valid vouchers for the entire Internet, this will cause millions of Chrome users to lose access to a large number of websites.

In order to reduce the impact, Chrome will gradually shorten the validity period of Symantec voucher in the new Chrome in the future.

Among them, in Chrome 59, these credentials are valid for 33 months, and when they reach Chrome 64, they will be shortened to 9 months.

For Symantec sanctions, Symantec expressed dissatisfaction, saying that Google's actions were unprepared and that such measures were also quite irresponsible. Symantec reminds SSL/TLS customers that they "don't take any action."

Electrolytic capacitor

The electrolyte material inside the electrolytic capacitor, which has charge storage, is divided into positive and negative polarity, similar to the battery, and cannot be connected backwards.A metal substrate having an oxide film attached to a positive electrode and a negative electrode connected to an electrolyte (solid and non-solid) through a metal plate.

Nonpolar (dual polarity) electrolytic capacitor adopts double oxide film structure, similar to the two polar electrolytic capacitor after two connected to the cathode, the two electrodes of two metal plates respectively (both with oxide film), two groups of oxide film as the electrolyte in the middle.Polar electrolytic capacitors usually play the role of power filter, decoupling (like u), signal coupling, time constant setting and dc isolation in power circuit, medium frequency and low frequency circuit.Non-polar electrolytic capacitors are usually used in audio frequency divider circuit, television S correction circuit and starting circuit of single-phase motor.
